Mental Health IOP Programs

Women are the center and the anchor of the family.

Exclusively Women’s IOP Program

Women’s bodies are different from men in significant ways. Women’s hormones and reproductive cycle changes can influence their vulnerability to emotional disturbances, and can affect life decisions. Additionally, mood disorders are twice as prevalent in women compared with men, particularly during the childbearing years. Postpartum depression, difficult childbirth or gynecological issues, miscarriage, grief, major transitions, illness, past traumatic experiences, substance/alcohol use, and other physical changes may overwhelm a woman’s ability to cope and may place her at risk for depression, anxiety, or other emotional responses that disrupt daily living.

Our women’s program provides superior treatment through combining group therapy in an all-female environment, with an initial evaluation and continued oversight by a board-certified female psychiatrist.  The IOP groups are led by a licensed and experienced therapist who specializes in working with women’s issues.  The group meets three times a week, and the length of the program is individualized, depending on the needs of the client.  In this safe, single gender environment we work on a range of behavioral health issues including:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Panic Disorder
  • Bipolar and Mood Disorders
  • Trauma and Abuse Recovery
  • Post traumatic Stress Disorder
  • Postpartum Depression
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
  • Adjustment Disorder
  • Chronic Pain Disorders
  • Schizophrenia/Schizoaffective Disorder
  • Endometriosis, Hysterectomy, Women’s Cancers
  • Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS)/Menopause
  • Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD)
  • Psychological effects of infertility and treatment
  • Psychiatric issues during pregnancy and breastfeeding
  • Sex-related Issues
  • Gambling Addiction
  • Smoking Addiction
  • Gender and Identity Issues
  • Eating Disorders
  • Grief and Loss Support

After completion of the IOP program, the client may continue to stay under the care of the psychiatrist.  ABC also offers the option to attend a weekly 90 minute Adult Aftercare Group program after successful IOP completion, and recommends individual, couple, or family therapy along with IOP, as well as after IOP completion.

But the first step is to schedule a free clinical phone consultation with us. We will gather some information about your specific needs and concerns, and determine the appropriate level of care and group for your situation. Intake calls usually only take a few minutes and can be scheduled online by clicking the link below.
