Frequently asked Questions

Why can't I book an appointment online with a psychiatrist?

An initial consultation with a Master’s level therapist is required to identify the patient’s need before we can book an appointment with a psychiatrist. After your initial consultation, we will immediately book your appointment with a psychiatrist. You will see a psychiatrist within days of entering our program.

How much does the treatment program cost?

Your first appointment with us is free and confidential. You will meet with a Master’s level therapist to discuss your concerns and treatment options. Should you decide to start our program, we will contact your insurance company for you and inform you of what the program would cost. We accept most major insurances and if we are an in-network provider to your plan, your insurance should cover the majority of your care. We charge no additional fees. Clients are only responsible for any co-pays/deductibles/co-insurance and medication costs. Your insurance company may require that we bill for physician fees separately. This will be reflected in your explanation of benefits.

What is your cancellation policy?

A 24 hour notice is required in order to cancel or change your appointment. Please contact our office directly to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

What is your payment policy?

Initial assessments are free of charge. Co-pays are due at time of service for all follow-up appointments. Payment arrangements can be made for deductible and co-insurance. Credit cards and HSA cards are accepted.

What is the involvement of family members in treatment?

Incorporation of family members into the program is a key factor in recovery. At Alternative Behavioral Care we include the whole family in treatment. Many of our programs consist of weekly family groups. Family members are instrumental in supporting healthy recovery. There are cases where a patient may prefer not to have family involvement because of issues that may impede their recovery. We encourage our patients to let us know if this is the case.
